We have three main ways to get involved:
volunteer
1. Volunteer to work with BGR youth participants. This means showing up to online or in-person events. Complete our volunteer sign-up form.
leadership
2. Join our leadership team. Our leadership team does all of the behind-the-scenes work when it comes to fundraising, creating programming, recruiting, promotion, grant writing and more.
workshop
3. Facilitate a workshop. Brown Girl Rise is always looking for facilitators to teach a wide variety of topics. We ask that all facilitators identify as BIPOC and femme and/or non-binary.

BGR Youth Board + Radical Organizing Workshop Series
At Brown Girl Rise, we are committed to amplifying and empowering the voices of BIPOC youth. Our organization's foundation is built on the belief that the influence of youth is integral to our work. As part of our initiative to foster youth leadership, we are excited to share more about our Radical Organizing Workshop Series (ROWS), the pre-requisite for joining the BGR Youth Board.
What is the Radical Organizing Workshop Series?
The Radical Organizing Workshop Series is designed to equip youth with the tools and knowledge to incite meaningful change within their communities. Through a dynamic and interactive curriculum, participants gain valuable insights into community organizing, advocacy, and impactful strategies for creating sustainable change.
Empowering Youth Voices
We recognize the need to uplift and mentor the next generation of change-makers. ROWS is a platform for youth to learn, grow, and amplify their voices in the community.
Opportunities for Growth
Participants can apply for paid positions within our organization by completing the workshop series. This unique opportunity will enable young leaders to actualize their potential and actively contribute to advancing our mission.
